Katherine Heigl recently spoke out about being raised in "a the white bubble." She also explains the impact that this realization has had on her parenting of adoptees who are multi-racial. She is the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actor revealed in a recent interview that in regards to skin color -- she didn't care how she looked like when she was younger, but once she talked to her older sister, whom she adopted by South Korea, she realized that society was different when it came to each of the two. "I wanted to know Meg what she thought about being that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and the times she was out by herself. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl talked to parents about when she realized the naivety of her actions. She admitted that she was frustrated however she was also aware of the need to use this anger to support her children. Heigl has a four year old son with her 13-year wife, Josh Kelley. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009. Adalaide is an Black 8-year old girl that was adopted by the couple in 2012.
